Climate Change after Copenhagen: What Does it Mean for NZ Bio-Businesses?

John is an experienced regulatory economist with over a decade’s experience in public policy and energy markets.

 

John’s current role is as Business New Zealand’s Manager: Energy, Environment and Infrastructure.  He has previously held roles at The Treasury, the Ministry for Economic Development, the Marketplace Company and Genesis Energy.

As a Business NZ Manager, he leads the organisation’s advocacy on energy, environmental and infrastructure issues on behalf of business. His role is to manage the co-ordination, understanding and analysis of regulatory issues across a broad range of issues, and to effectively communicate Business NZ’s position on proposed regulatory interventions.

John was a member of the Treasury-led Emissions Trading Stationary Energy and Industrial Process Technical Advisory Group and is currently a member of the Electricity Commission’s Market Design Advisory Group.
